More than 1,500 children, parents and community members got up close to more than 20 big commercial and emergency vehicles at the Touch-a-Truck Event this past Saturday at Zappone Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Clifton Park. The annual event, hosted by Bestpass, Inc., and the New York Motor Truck Association, raised money for Veterans Count NY.

Bishop Edward Scharfenberger, the Jewish-Catholic Dialogue, and Rabbis were featured at a Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY event, March 8 at Temple Israel. The interfaith audience was moved by the Bishop’s words about love and respect for the Jewish people, the need to be vocal about anti-Semitism today, persecution of Jews, stabbings in the streets of Israel, and persecution of Christians in the Middle East. The Bishop said, “…Christians cannot be anti-Semitic and be Christian.” He asked all to, “…stand together against any religious persecution.” Top: Rabbi Robert Kasman*; Rev. Bob Lazar, Chair of Corporate Giving for the 2015 Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, is shown awarding an appreciation plaque to Sarah Baluch, Director of Restaurant Sales for BBL Hospitality. BBL is one of many supporters of this year’s’ Toys for Tots campaign and is hosting a Dine to Donate fundraiser at the Guilderland Recovery Sports Grill on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. where 15 percent of all sales will be donated to the Marine program.

Alumni of the Avant Garde Drum & Bugle Corps in Saratoga on 11/7/15

Avant Garde Drum and Bugle Corps was an internationally known group of young people based in Saratoga County. For 11 seasons from 1975 to 1985 the group toured the country in competitions organized by Drum Corps International (dci.org) ...marching music’s major league. DCI corps are composed of members 21 years of age and younger. Avant Garde won six New York State championships and achieved a peak rank of 15th in the world.

St. Catherine's mascot SCCCrappy started the day with a children's 1-mile fun run! The race drew more than 175 people and raised over $14,000 for local children and families in need.

Members of the NYS Forum got into the spirit by arriving as a complete set of Crayola crayons! The race drew more than 175 people and raised over $14,000 for local children and families in need.
