A panorama of the parking lot at Brunswick Harley.  Their were close to 400 bikes participating in the ride to raise money and donate toys to families in need this Christmas.

A fundraiser for the MAGIC Foundation in honor of Devan Hanks, was held on October 23,2009, at the Ambiance Salon and Day Spa inLatham.Devan is a four year old, from Glenmont, with a rare growth disorder called Russell Silver Syndrome. The MAGIC Foundation is an organization dedicated to helping children and adults with growth disorders.

The inspiring rock group Flame will perform in Bennington Friday, November 13 at 7pm at the Mt. Anthony Union High School Auditorium, 301 Park Street, in Bennington. 

Advance tickets are $7 and $10 at the door.

On tour this year across Europe and the US, Flame played for crowds up to 17,000 people. 

Despite the acclaim, Flame is an unlikely band. Each member overcame challenges to perform, such as blindness, disability, and autism. Flame is an unforgettable performance.

Environmentalist and renowned author Bill McKibben spoke to students at The Albany Academies and the general community on Friday, October 16 as part of the Amanda Morrison ’02 Endowed Lectureship about an upcoming climate action campaign involving hundreds of climate change rallies across the world on October 24.

McKibben is the author of numerous books and publications, including The End of Nature (1989) – one of the first best-selling general-interest books on global warming.

The endowed lectureship was established in loving memory of Amanda Morrison by her devoted family and friends. Amanda was an avid reader and talented writer who attended Albany Academy for Girls; she tragically passed away in 2004.
